Greetings, current and future Academy of Accelerated Learning families.

As the principal of Academy of Accelerated Learning (AAL), I’m excited to welcome you to Wisconsin’s first public International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Since 2011, our internationally recognized curriculum and diverse family population has helped students develop a global perspective. Caring educators and involved parents create a neighborhood-school atmosphere. It’s the best of both worlds for our K4-5 students. We’re glad you’re here.

I’ve been in the principal’s office at AAL for 14 years. I’ve been in the building much longer. I attended this school myself, then moved on to Hamilton High School. Education is a lifelong passion and family tradition. My mother taught in Milwaukee Public Schools and my daughter is now a music educator at Reagan High School.

I began my MPS career teaching sixth grade, thirty years ago. After seven years in the classroom, I earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and began working in administration.
