ALBA partners with leading Milwaukee organizations to offer students and families high-quality programs in academics, arts, community engagement, health, and more.

America SCORES Milwaukee

Milwaukee Recreation and America SCORES Milwaukee partners to provide after-school enrichment at ALBA’s Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center. The center offers K through eighth-grade students a healthy snack or light dinner and supervised, structured academic enrichment opportunities that reinforce what students learn during the school day.

Danceworks, Inc.

The mission of Danceworks, Inc. is to enhance joy, health, and creativity by engaging the community through dance. Students participate in Mad Hot Rhythm, an innovative educational dance program that provides arts and physical education.

First Stage

First Stage is an acclaimed children’s theater that creates exciting experiences for young people and families. First Stage educators conduct theater-skills and arts-integrated workshops at ALBA, and our students also attend First Stage performances.

Marquette University

Marquette is a Catholic, Jesuit university with more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. Students in Marquette’s education program can student-teach at ALBA, and the university also runs a dental clinic with a sliding scale for families.

Mexican Consulate Milwaukee

The Mexican Consulate’s Consul of Community Affairs promotes the well-being of the Mexican community abroad. At ALBA, they attend our events to provide information, educational books for both parents and students, and other support for our families.

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC)

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is a two-year institution that offers more than 170 degree, diploma, and certificate programs. Parents and guardians of ALBA students can take citizenship and ESL classes and earn their GEDs at MATC.

Milwaukee Art Museum

The Milwaukee Art Museum collects and preserves art to inspire and educate. It is a premier educational resource with programs that involve classes, tours, and a full calendar of events for all ages. Third through fifth graders at ALBA participate in the Milwaukee Art Museum Junior Docent School program.

Milwaukee Ballet

Milwaukee Ballet performances are a cornerstone of Milwaukee culture, and their community engagement programs promote confidence, a healthy lifestyle, and creativity through performances. Relevé is their in-school ballet training program that is enjoyed by hundreds of MPS students each year. We are proud to have partnered with Milwaukee Ballet to offer this program to ALBA second, third, and fourth graders for the last fifteen years!

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) develops music appreciation and talent among youth through its performances and programming. The Arts in Community Education (ACE) Program brings MSO musicians, fellow artists, lesson plans, and learning materials to thousands of students and hundreds of teachers in Wisconsin.

Ruach, Inc.

Ruach, Inc. is a Milwaukee-based Jewish arts organization focused on enriching communities through creative arts rooted in Jewish values and cultural diversity. They offer performances, classes, and other programs—particularly in music, visual arts, dance, and theater—to uplift and unite underserved communities. Ruach, Inc. aims to make arts experiences accessible to all, regardless of background or financial means.

United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS)

United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) provides services to low-income and underserved individuals to increase opportunities, improve living conditions, and foster self-sufficiency. They offer culturally and linguistically responsive services to our community, including job training, adult education, childcare, housing assistance, and support for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension aims to connect the public with the University of Wisconsin. Their Health & Well-Being Institute brings the FoodWIse program to ALBA.

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM)

UW–Milwaukee (UWM) provides affordable, world-class education to 23,000 students from 86 countries. Students from the bilingual department in UWM’s Center for Student Talent & Experience volunteer in classrooms and student-teach at ALBA.

Urban Ecology Center

Milwaukee’s three Urban Ecology Centers provide year-round educational programs for kids, families, and adults of all ages. The centers help make urban parks safer, enrich classroom curriculum, and provide students with the science skills they need to succeed. ALBA students visit the UEC for field experiences through UEC’s Neighborhood Environmental Education Project (NEEP).

VIA CDC (Community Development Corporation)

Formerly Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, this organization focuses on well-being and community in Milwaukee neighborhoods. They offer leadership workshops to provide ALBA families with the tools needed to become active participants in their neighborhoods.

Voces de la Frontera

Voces de la Frontera advocates for the rights of low-wage workers and immigrants in Wisconsin. They provide resources for ALBA families at our events, and they also offer legal services, register voters, organize workers, and empower students with their Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) program.

Wisconsin Conservatory of Music

The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is more than a community music school. It guides and inspires children and adults alike to find their voice, discover their desired instrument, and develop their music-making capabilities. The conservatory’s performer-educators bring weekly curriculum-based music instruction to ALBA.
