Dear Allen-Field families,
On behalf of the Allen-Field staff, welcome to our community—and thank you for choosing our school. I have served as principal of Allen-Field for more than a decade, and I am passionate about leading such a diverse school community.
At Allen-Field, we value students’ experiences and nurture their development, from academic achievement to curiosity and beyond. We believe deeply in the importance of building strong, healthy relationships with families and community members who influence and support our students. As principal, I would like to share my own experiences so you can get to know me and my educational philosophy better.
I moved to the United States from Nicaragua in 1985 and have called southeastern Wisconsin home ever since. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After graduation, I discovered my passion for education while teaching in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). My career with MPS began as a bilingual chemistry, biology, and physical science teacher at Casmir Pulaski High School, the Milwaukee Learning Laboratory and Institute, and South Division High School. At Pulaski, I also served as assistant principal and principal. I gained experience teaching middle school as well at the American Nicaraguan International School in Nicaragua.
My experiences at the middle and high school levels have shaped my commitment to elementary education. I have seen where students need to be academically and socially at the secondary level, and I am motivated to ensure we build a strong foundation early. I truly love working with elementary students because of their excitement, curiosity, and joy for learning. When we capture children’s interest at a young age, we nurture habits and mindsets that lead to lifelong learning. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students happy to come to school each day.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting state and national parks and have made it a goal to explore as many as possible. These experiences continue to inspire my appreciation for growth, exploration, and discovery—values I strive to instill in our students.
If you would like to learn more about Allen-Field or schedule a tour, please call us at (414) 902- 9200. We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Mr. Fritz Blandón
Principal
