First Stage is an acclaimed children\u2019s theater that creates exciting experiences for young people and families. First Stage educators teach theater skills, and our students also attend First Stage performances.<\/p>\n
Milwaukee Ballet performances are a cornerstone of Milwaukee culture, and their community engagement programs promote confidence, a healthy lifestyle, and creativity through performances. Relev\u00e9 is their in-school ballet training program that is enjoyed by hundreds of MPS students each year. Allen-Field students also get to enjoy Milwaukee Ballet performances.<\/p>\n
Milwaukee Recreation offers their Water Safety Program at no cost for third graders at Allen-Field. The program includes four swim lessons at South Division High School, and Milwaukee Rec supports student participation by supplying swimsuits, swim caps, and towels for students.<\/p>\n
Our third graders can receive expert skating instruction at this official US Speedskating training facility, which features two international-size ice rinks and a 400-meter speed skating oval.<\/p>\n
Technology company PKWARE supports Allen-Field throughout the year through generous donations. The company provides supplies for events, such as math and literacy nights, and supports our families by donating holiday gifts.<\/p>\n
Playworks Wisconsin\u202fgives kids foundational skills for success on the playground, in the classroom, and in the community. It is a national organization that leverages play to promote healthy behaviors and increase social and emotional learning at recess and throughout the school day. More than 1,000 Wisconsin kids serve as Junior Coach student leaders on the playground by leading games and modeling positive sporting behavior for their peers.<\/p>\n
Playgrounds across MPS are greener and healthier thanks to a partnership with Reflo. This environmental nonprofit works with other organizations to design, construct, and renovate MPS schoolyards like ours, which opened in 2021. Reflo combines environmental education, water management, and child\u2019s play to create greener, healthier playgrounds. Each project is tailored to the specific needs and enthusiasm of the school\u2019s community and can include outdoor classrooms, recreational facilities, and arts opportunities.<\/p>\n
Colectivo\u2019s bakery in Bay View creates baked goods using high-quality ingredients from Midwest farmers and producers. Our second graders enjoy a field trip to the bakery to learn how tasty treats are made.<\/p>\n
Milwaukee\u2019s three Urban Ecology Centers provide year-round educational programs for kids, families, and adults of all ages. The centers help make urban parks safer, enrich classroom curriculum, and provide students with the science skills they need to succeed. Allen-Field students visit the UEC for field experiences through UEC\u2019s Neighborhood Environmental Education Project (NEEP).<\/p>\n
