Literacy and mathematical concepts form the foundation of our academic program, becoming more rigorous as students advance. Partner organizations provide tutoring support, nutrition and mental wellness programming, and enrichment activities to support the whole child. Children learn the most when they feel their best, and the Auer Avenue team collaborates to identify and meet the needs of every child.
Auer Avenue students work together and learn from each other in social and emotional lessons, wellness workshops, and at play. School-wide, we learn and use restorative practices to build trust and promote respect from morning circles at the start of the day to monthly Family Council meetings. Students enjoy homework help, structured activities, food, and friend time in our after-school enrichment program. Family workshops and reading diners help busy families connect with school and with each other. In fact, many Auer Avenue caretakers are loyal alumni who enroll their children (or grandchildren!) here.
After School Program
The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at COA Goldin provides an after-school program to K4 through fifth-grade students in partnership with Milwaukee Recreation and COA Youth & Family Centers. The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at COA Goldin provides academic enrichment, homework help, social-emotional learning, arts programming, and nutritious meals or snacks to students.
