Please Join MPS and MHD for a Town Hall

May 27, 2025 | News

Dear Brown Street Academy families and staff,

We would like to invite you to a town hall meeting with Milwaukee Public Schools and the Milwaukee Health Department.

Please join us in person on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Rufus King International Middle School, 121 E. Hadley St. Please enter the school off N. 1st St., through door 8; the town hall will be in the cafeteria.

The Brown Street, LaFollette, and Westside school communities will receive an update at the town hall and can ask questions about the ongoing lead cleanup at MPS schools, which is being done to ensure the safety of students and staff. Starms families are welcome to attend to ask any outstanding questions.

We ask that you register in advance at this link to attend and to speak. Childcare provided onsite by Milwaukee Recreation will be available, along with interpretation. Please let us know if you will need these services when you register: mpsmke.com/4kpGKZk

In attendance to answer your questions will be Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Brenda Cassellius and Deputy Superintendent Eduardo Galván, City of Milwaukee Deputy Health Commissioner Tyler Weber, and others.

The town hall will last 90 minutes. Every speaker will be given 90 seconds to ask questions or make comments, to ensure we hear from as many people as possible.

We hope you will be able to join us on Wednesday.
