We have earned state and national honors for building environmental best practices into school operations and lessons. We share a building, greenhouse, gardens, and multi-sports complex with Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. Our scholars grow and harvest vegetables and map out bikeable and walkable routes to school, strengthening their math and literacy skills. They create and collaborate in weekly art, music, and physical education classes.
Expert teachers and clear rules around safety and respect motivate scholars to work hard and work together from K3 to fifth grade. Browning School assemblies pump up attendance goals and recognize individual scholars and school-wide success.
Family and community support our success through the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership. This partnership brings after-school programs, youth mentors and tutors, and wellness workshops to Browning School. Parents, caregivers, and neighbors join our Family Leadership Organization and Community School Leadership Team. We teach communication skills and trust-building exercises so we can set and achieve goals together.
We say it every day: “Crowning Browning.” Please visit us for a tour or special event and consider joining this rising and remarkable community.
