Parent-Teacher Team and School Engagement Council
Greetings!
As we embark on another exciting school year, we are thrilled to introduce you to two essential parent involvement groups: the Parent-Teacher Team and the School Engagement Council.
At Burdick, we believe that parental involvement is a cornerstone of a successful and vibrant school community. These groups offer opportunities for you to actively participate in shaping your child’s educational experience and the overall school environment.
Parent-Teacher Team(PTT): The PTT is a group of dedicated parents and teachers who collaborate to enhance the educational experience at our school. They organize various events, fundraisers, and activities that directly benefit our students and foster a sense of community among parents and staff.
Some of the PTT’s key initiatives include:
- Organizing school-wide events and family nights
- Fundraising for classroom materials, extracurricular activities, and field trips
- Supporting teacher and staff appreciation efforts
- Advocating for the needs and concerns of parents and students
School Engagement Council: The School Engagement Council serves as a vital bridge between parents and the school administration. This council discusses important issues and provides valuable input on decisions that impact our school community. It’s an excellent platform for parents to have a voice in shaping policies and programs.
The council’s responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with school leadership on important decisions
- Discussing academic goals and strategies to achieve them
- Addressing concerns and sharing feedback from parents
- Promoting open and constructive communication between parents and the school
We Invite You to Join Us! We warmly invite you to attend our upcoming meetings to learn more about the PTT and the School Engagement Council and how you can become an active member. Your participation will not only benefit your child but also contribute to the growth and success of our entire school community.
The SEC meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. in the Burdick Library. The PTT also meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month immediately following the SEC meeting from 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Check out the agendas for tomorrow night’s meetings to get an idea of what we will be discussing.
Please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to attend. Your presence and ideas are invaluable to us, and we look forward to working together to create a positive and enriching educational experience for all our students.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Liza at 414-294-1288 or cohenl1@milwaukee.k12.wi.us
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings.
