✨ Thank You for an Incredible Black History Month Program! ✨
A huge THANK YOU to all the staff, students, and families who participated in this year’s Black History Month program! 🎉👏 Your hard work, creativity, and dedication made this celebration truly special. From inspiring performances 🎭 to powerful presentations 📖, our Burdick community came together to honor Black history, culture, and contributions in meaningful ways.
One of the most exciting moments was a special video message and book reading 📚🎥 from Ernestine Tina Martin Wyatt, the great-great-great-great niece of Harriet Tubman! Her words reminded us of the strength, courage, and lasting impact of one of history’s greatest leaders. What an incredible opportunity for our students to connect with history in such a personal way!
❤️💛💚 Thank you again to everyone who made this program possible! Your efforts help keep history alive and inspire us all to learn, grow, and celebrate diversity every day! 🌍✊🏾

🕺💃 Room 201’s Dance Battle or Homework? The Choice Was Theirs! 🎶🔥
When faced with a decision—complete homework or send two classmates to battle it out in a dance-off—Room 201 made the obvious choice: DANCE BATTLE! 😆🎉
Students voted to select two brave representatives to take the floor, knowing their moves could determine whether the whole class earned a homework-free pass. With music blasting and classmates cheering, the chosen dancers brought their best energy, showing off spins, footwork, and freestyle flair.
In the end, their skills paid off—no homework for Room 201! 🙌 Whether dancing or cheering from the sidelines, everyone had a blast. Way to bring the fun, Room 201! 🏆💃🕺
🌙 Ramadan Mubarak! 🕌
Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, begins on the evening of Friday, February 28 through Saturday, March 29. During this time, many of our Burdick students and families will be observing by fasting from sunrise to sunset, engaging in prayer, and focusing on reflection and community.
We want to ensure that all students feel supported during this time. If your child needs a quiet place to pray during the school day, please reach out to Ms. Liza, and we will be happy to accommodate them.
Wishing a peaceful and blessed month to all who celebrate! Ramadan Mubarak! ✨🙏
🧥 Lost & Found: Now Accepting Adoption Applications! 🥤
Burdick’s Lost & Found has officially reached epic levels. We’ve got water bottles forming their own little community, and enough jackets to outfit an entire soccer team.
If your child has ever come home claiming, “I didn’t lose it!”—trust us, it’s probably here. Come rescue these poor, abandoned items before they start leaving “Help Me” notes. 😂👀

Spring Testing
State required testing begins in March, providing an important opportunity to measure student growth and progress. These assessments help us understand where students are excelling and where they may need additional support.
To set them up for success, ensure they get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and come to school ready to do their best. We appreciate your support in helping students stay focused and confident during this time.
