The Burdick Alumni Association connects graduates through annual events, newsletters, and philanthropic efforts that celebrate our school’s legacy and support future generations of A.E. Burdick School students.
Membership
The Burdick Alumni Association was created in 1986 to foster connections among Burdick graduates. If you graduated from Burdick School and would like to join our Alumni Association, please contact Nancy Leffingwell at nleffingwell@sbcglobal.net or (715) 514-0057.
The association’s main goals are to:
- Host an annual banquet for members to gather and renew old friendships
- Produce a newsletter to share important information with school alumni
Annual Banquet
This event is held every year on the first Thursday in September after Labor Day. This year’s banquet will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Burdick School. Please email nleffingwell@sbcglobal.net for more information about attending.
Newsletter
The association’s newsletter contains important information about the school. It is also used to honor previous staff members. In recent years, this has included teachers, principals, a school nurse, and a janitor.
The association has copies of every newsletter created since the first in 1987. Email nleffingwell@sbcglobal.net to request a specific edition.
Philanthropy
The Burdick Alumni Association provides support for current and future scholars. Below is a list of recent notable contributions to the Burdick community:
- 2015: $1,000.00 for Burdick’s musical education programs
- 2013: $500.00 for the Nick Contorno School of Music of Gonaives and Musical Haiti
- 2012: Plaques and tributes to Robert E. Kupfer (Athletic Court), Anthony U. Erickson (Band Room), and George F. Cerwin (Stage for the Performing Arts)
