A huge THANK YOU to all the staff, students, and families who participated in this year\u2019s Black History Month program! \ud83c\udf89\ud83d\udc4f Your hard work, creativity, and dedication made this celebration truly special. From inspiring performances \ud83c\udfad to powerful presentations \ud83d\udcd6, our Burdick community came together to honor Black history, culture, and contributions in meaningful ways.<\/div>\n

One of the most exciting moments was a special video message and book reading \ud83d\udcda\ud83c\udfa5 from Ernestine Tina Martin Wyatt, the great-great-great-great niece of Harriet Tubman! Her words reminded us of the strength, courage, and lasting impact of one of history\u2019s greatest leaders. What an incredible opportunity for our students to connect with history in such a personal way!<\/div>\n

\ud83c\udfd5\ufe0f 8th Grade Overnight Camp Info Meeting \u2013 March 12! \ud83d\udce2<\/strong><\/u><\/div>\n
Attention 8th grade families! Our annual 8th grade overnight camping field trip to Camp Whitcomb-Mason is scheduled for May 6-7, and we want to make sure you have all the important details. Join us for a mandatory information meeting on Wednesday, March 12, where we\u2019ll go over trip logistics, cost, fundraising opportunities, packing lists, expectations, and answer any questions you may have.<\/div>\n

\ud83d\udd7a\ud83d\udc83 Room 201\u2019s Dance Battle or Homework? The Choice Was Theirs! \ud83c\udfb6\ud83d\udd25<\/strong><\/u><\/div>\n
When faced with a decision\u2014complete homework or send two classmates to battle it out in a dance-off\u2014Room 201 made the obvious choice: DANCE BATTLE! \ud83d\ude06\ud83c\udf89<\/div>\n
Students voted to select two brave representatives to take the floor, knowing their moves could determine whether the whole class earned a homework-free pass. With music blasting and classmates cheering, the chosen dancers brought their best energy, showing off spins, footwork, and freestyle flair.<\/div>\n

In the end, their skills paid off\u2014no homework for Room 201! \ud83d\ude4c Whether dancing or cheering from the sidelines, everyone had a blast. Way to bring the fun, Room 201! \ud83c\udfc6\ud83d\udc83\ud83d\udd7a<\/div>\n

\ud83c\udf19 Ramadan Mubarak! \ud83d\udd4c<\/strong><\/u><\/div>\n
Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, begins on the evening of Friday, February 28 through Saturday, March 29. During this time, many of our Burdick students and families will be observing by fasting from sunrise to sunset, engaging in prayer, and focusing on reflection and community.<\/div>\n
We want to ensure that all students feel supported during this time. If your child needs a quiet place to pray during the school day, please reach out to Ms. Liza, and we will be happy to accommodate them.<\/div>\n

Burdick\u2019s Lost & Found has officially reached epic levels. We\u2019ve got water bottles forming their own little community, and enough jackets to outfit an entire soccer team.<\/div>\n
If your child has ever come home claiming, \u201cI didn\u2019t lose it!\u201d\u2014trust us, it\u2019s probably here. Come rescue these poor, abandoned items before they start leaving \u201cHelp Me\u201d notes. \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\udc40<\/div>\n

Burdick families can now track their child\u2019s bus in real time with the WheresTheBus app! This free app provides up-to-the-minute arrival times, so students and families can wait comfortably indoors\u2014no more guessing or standing outside in bad weather.<\/div>\n
