Meal Train for BVM Family

In every school community, there are people whose steady presence quietly strengthens the fabric of our days. BVM Parent Libby Gier is one of those people who has been guiding our Chess Club with patience and joy, volunteering wherever help is needed, and contributing her voice to the PTO and SEC.

Her family is facing a significant challenge. Over the holiday season, her husband Kevin will undergo open-heart surgery to repair or, if necessary, replace his mitral valve. It’s a daunting medical journey, and in times like these, even small gestures of support can matter greatly. A Meal Train has been organized to help ease the load during Kevin’s surgery and recovery. For those who are able and wish to participate, this is a simple but meaningful way to show our care. Thank you for keeping Libby, Kevin, and their family in your thoughts during the weeks ahead.

This longtime winter tradition is one we hope to continue with your support! We invite families to contribute nut-free cookies, homemade or store-bought. Drop off cookies in the lower campus office anytime between Wednesday, 12/17 through Friday morning, 12/19.

Playground Plowing and Salting

Increasingly, building engineers and Facilities & Maintenance personnel are being asked by principals/school leaders to plow and salt the playgrounds. Please be aware that MPS has a long-standing policy not to plow or salt the playgrounds, for the following safety reasons:

– Removing the snow from playgrounds creates icy conditions, making the surface hazardous to students and staff.

– Large snow mounds created by plowing may be dangerous to students.

– Salt may damage and degrade playground surfaces, creating a dangerous condition for students and staff.

Bay View Community Center Food Drive organized by students in Ms. Emma’s Class –  Ira Brhely, Allison Fisher, and Ben Keto

We, Ira Brhely, Allison Fischer, and Ben Keto, are setting up donations to the Bay View Community Center. We chose this topic to do a good deed in the world. No matter what happens, there’s still good in this world. Everyone deserves food, water and love but not a lot of people have all that. We have multiple bins around the school, so drop by and donate if you can. Everyone knows that poverty, like sickness, can not be eradicated, but we can help stop it in our community, little by little. Drive goes from December 1st to January 9th

WE NEED:

Jam/jelly

Cereal

Pasta and pasta sauce

Mac and cheese

Canned chicken or tuna

Individually wrapped, single serving snacks

Toilet paper

Dish soap/laundry detergent

Menstrual care items like tampons

Please Support Us.

Thank you for helping our students make a meaningful impact in our community!
