Welcome to Bay View Montessori School, a two-campus community that offers an enriching K-8 Montessori education in Milwaukee’s scenic, historic Bay View neighborhood.
Our students enjoy weekly art, music, and physical education classes, and schoolyards and gardens where STEM lessons and school agriculture projects take root. The results are in, and inspiring: Bay View Montessori School exceeds expectations on our school report card.
Parents reinforce Montessori values like creativity, productivity, and community during field trips, extracurricular, and governance activities. They chaperone during trips to Peace Learning Center, Nature’s Classroom, and Upham Woods. From team sports to drama club, students have many outlets for academic, athletic, and creative growth. Monthly meetings of our Parent Teacher Organization, School Engagement Council, and Bay View Montessori Fund bring parents and teachers together to host family events and guide our school’s continued growth.

Our youngest students learn in small-group lessons, and develop independence in our comfortably arranged, multi-age classrooms where they choose hands-on academic activities that engage their interests and help them acquire essential math and literacy skills. Shuttle service between the campuses means families with children at both sites use just one location during drop off or pickup.
Upper Campus
Two miles away, first through eighth graders make their home on our upper campus. Teachers are guides as first through third graders develop a deeper understanding of core academic concepts during focused “work” sessions using Montessori learning materials. Middle-school students become entrepreneurs, creators, and innovators as they collaborate on classroom businesses and research projects. They share their discoveries and creations during special events and cultural presentations. Shuttle service between the campuses means families with children at both sites use just one location during drop off or pickup.
Before and After School Program
Milwaukee Recreation hosts Camp Bay View at our lower campus, providing fully supervised before- and after-school programming that brings academic support, enrichment, and recreational opportunities to children in grades K3 through K5.
