Academic Achievements and Awards

Bay View Montessori School proudly shares news of the academic awards, test scores, and recognition that our staff, students, and parents have accomplished together.

These numbers are important but the story behind them is what truly matters: If you want a teacher to give your child individual attention, Bay View Montessori is the place to send him/her. Our daily interventions and approach to learning help every student to achieve.

Bay View Montessori School wants the community – from school neighbors and school parents to prospective families and education leaders – to know:

  • We have one of the highest rates of attendance in the district with an average of more than 96% of students attending daily.
  • We have few suspensions because we intervene daily to teach students appropriate behavior.
  • According to STAR and Forward data, our students have a narrow achievement gap. The achievement gap in the United States refers to “the observed, persistent disparity in measures of educational performance among subgroups of U.S. students, especially groups defined by socioeconomic status (SES) race/ethnicity and gender.”
  • We have been recognized yearly for our behavioral, math and reading performances by the State Department of Public Instruction Response to Intervention Institute, including 2023 Bronze-level recognition for behavior.
  • We have exceeded expectations on our school report card multiple times: 2022-23, 2021-22, 2020-21 (significantly exceeds expectations), 2018-19.
  • We have one of the highest percentages of Super Readers in all of Milwaukee Public Schools.
  • We have a sensational drama club and Junior Lego League. Without committed staff and parents, these programs would not exist.
