About

Every child’s Craig Montessori School journey begins in welcoming multi-age classrooms, supported by our caring and credentialed educators, or Montessori “guides.”

Our authentic Montessori approach gives children the time and freedom to discover their unique learning style and academic interests during guided group lessons and individual work. Creative, hands-on lessons are enhanced by special Montessori learning materials that nurture a child’s ability to concentrate fully and think critically as they develop math and literacy skills.

School Hours

9:10 a.m. – 4:10 p.m.

Your Craig Montessori student will develop communication and calming practices that encourage peace, problem-solving, and respect for all as they collaborate with classmates on research, and maintaining our shared Montessori environment: classrooms, greenhouse and schoolyard, and common areas. Beyond the classroom, field experiences and research projects in and around multicultural Milwaukee inspire children’s appreciation for nature, culture, and creativity. Craig students thrive individually and in community, consistently exceeding expectations on our school report card as they grow into creative, curious scholars and citizens who can change the world.

Our green and growing campus brings nature and community into academic lessons and school service projects. Students grow and sell a variety of plants in our greenhouse, learning about botany and economics. Our schoolyard is a place for mindfulness moments, recess, and physical education class, and guides lead science lessons in our new outdoor classroom. Neighbors are welcome to play and create in the schoolyard on evenings and weekends. Older students visit our Project Lead The Way laboratory for advanced STEM lessons and projects. Parents are partners who help steer the school’s continued progress through our Parent Teacher Organization and School Engagement Council. At Craig Montessori School, all are welcome and there truly is something for everyone.
