Our teachers, coaches, and parent volunteers support extracurricular activities because these help students explore career interests, develop new talents and skills, and make friends. Students who represent their school out in the community gain leadership experience and strengthen school pride.<\/p>\n
Craig Montessori School extracurricular activities are listed below. Contact our parent coordinator or your student\u2019s classroom teacher to learn more about them.<\/p>\n
Secondary students (grades seven and eight) work with artist educators from Arts @ Large on school beautification projects, our annual contribution to the Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival \u2014 a festive holiday tree, and other creative expressions for the Craig community. Students receive mentorship and inspiration in this weekly club.<\/p>\n
Beginning to advanced chess players are welcome. The Craig Chess Club competes against other Montessori chess teams during evening and weekend tournaments.<\/p>\n
This weekly after-school club brings engaging coding activities to upper elementary through secondary students (grades four through eight).<\/p>\n
In this new-in-2024 club, students develop a sense of drama as they perform read-alouds, short plays, and monologues. These young thespians are literally setting the stage for Craig Montessori School\u2019s forensics program, coming in 2025.<\/p>\n
In this weekly club, upper elementary students (grades four through six) team up with environmental educators from SHARP Literacy to learn more about sustainability, from culturing and propagating vegetables to harvesting and eating them.<\/p>\n
Upper elementary students (fifth and sixth graders) practice the communication and problem-solving skills that are hallmarks of a Montessori education as they support Craig classmates in this after-school club.<\/p>\n
