Andrew S. Douglas Middle School is a beautifully renovated, state of the art middle school that provides thought and skill building learning experiences for students in grades 6 through 8. Our well-qualified and committed teachers and staff work with family and community partners to ensure that each student\u2019s needs are met. We are focused on increasing student achievement, strengthening respect for diversity, building community confidence, and providing a safe and welcoming environment. We are also intent on ensuring that all students are prepared for challenging opportunities in school, in careers, in life.\r\n\r\nIn addition to a robust core curriculum, Andrew S. Douglas Middle School offers Art, Physical Education, Spanish, Ethnic Studies, technology immersion through Verizon, and a growing STEM focus via GE Innovation Lab, and fully functioning Maker Space in our library. With our outdoor classroom and student and staff exercise spaces in the works it will help students and staff continue to grow physically and mentally. Chefs Club, E-Sports Lab, Sports Teams, Student Council, Peer Mediation, Student Tech Team, and the Student Discipline Committee keep students actively engaged in their education.\r\n\r\nWe have full time support staff, which includes a Trauma Support Specialist, and Self-Regulation spaces for both students and staff with social and emotional support. We build working relationships, employ culturally responsive practices, and teach and learn rigorously.\r\nMission<\/h2>\r\nTo increase academic achievement, strengthen respect for diversity, build community, and provide a safe and welcoming environment\r\n
Vision<\/h2>\r\nWe envision, by 2026, that Andrew S. Douglas Middle School will exemplify a socially and emotionally safe environment that operates as a community-based resource hub. Douglas is inclusive and available to all community members while preparing scholars for college and career readiness. We equip our students with the academic, social, technological, critical, creative, and collaborative skills needed to thrive.\r\n
