Since 2020, it has been my privilege to watch our students, families, and staff create a welcoming learning environment that supports and celebrates our children. Fairview is truly a wonderful place to be, and I’m honored to help shape its future.
My journey with Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) began in 1998 as a teacher at Wisconsin Avenue Elementary School and later Elm Creative Arts School. After teaching for eight years, I became an administrator to make a meaningful impact on students who need it most, serving as a positive influence while ensuring all students have equitable access to the same opportunities as their suburban peers.
Before joining the incredible team at Fairview, I was an assistant principal at Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School and Hartford Avenue University School. During my two years as an assistant principal supporting 12 MPS schools, I gained valuable insight into what drives success and where systems can be strengthened. These experiences in elementary and middle school settings shaped me as an administrator and gave me a stronger understanding of how to help students thrive.
My leadership style is deeply influenced by my experience as a coach. I spent 15 years coaching boys’ volleyball at Marquette University High School, where I was part of six state championship teams, and I now enjoy coaching my own children. These experiences inspired me to pursue greater leadership roles and reinforced the importance of collaborating, communicating clearly, and supporting individuals in reaching their full potential.
Every child deserves encouragement, consistency, and someone who believes in them. Creating clear structure and strong academic expectations helps students build the confidence that leads to success. I work hard to ensure that supports are in place for every learner at Fairview.
As a lifelong resident of southeast Wisconsin, I care deeply about this community and the students and families we serve. I believe in being approachable, listening to families, and working together to find solutions. My goal is to lead proactively, build strong partnerships, and ensure our students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed. I look forward to partnering with you to make this school year a successful and rewarding experience for all.
Sincerely,
Eric Sullivan, Principal
