Activities

At Fairview School, extracurricular activities help to educate the whole child and foster a welcoming, inclusive school culture.

We believe learning extends beyond the classroom. Through participation in athletics and other school-based activities, students build confidence, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and strengthen time management and perseverance. They also form lasting friendships and meaningful connections to their school community.

Fairview offers a variety of extracurricular opportunities that keep students active, engaged, and motivated. These programs promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and positive social development in a supportive environment. Students can explore their interests, discover their strengths, and develop habits that contribute to lifelong success.

Extracurriculars

Art Club (Grades 6–8)

Art Club provides additional creative opportunities for students who enjoy artistic expression. Led by the art teacher, students work on special projects beyond the regular classroom curriculum.

Cricut Club (Grades 5–8)

Cricut Club introduces students to design and crafting technology through hands-on projects. Students use Cricut tools to create custom items, including Fairview spirit wear and school-themed designs.

Middle Level Forensics Association (Grades 6–8)

Forensics students are invited to participate in the Middle Level Forensics Association (MLFA) each year. MLFA gives middle school students the opportunity to have fun while developing and improving their ability to speak, act, or read in front of an audience. Students sign up in the fall, and meets begin in February. Fairview Forensics has won many awards and trophies thanks to our talented students and supportive coaching!

National Junior Honor Society (Grades 6–8)

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes students who demonstrate strong academics, character, leadership, and service. NJHS members focus on community service.

Pay It Forward (Grades 4–8)

Pay It Forward is a monthly community service club focused on giving back and making a positive impact. Students create cards, gifts, and care items for senior citizens, shelters, and other local organizations.

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring gives middle school students the opportunity to support younger learners in reading and math during the fall semester. Tutors build leadership and communication skills as they help elementary students make academic progress.

Sign Language Club (Grades 5–8)

During the spring semester, students in Sign Language Club meet weekly to learn and practice sign language in a fun and supportive environment. This club encourages communication skills and cultural awareness.

Student Council (Grades 5–8)

Elected by their peers, Student Council members serve as leaders within the Fairview community. Students build connections between grade levels as they collaborate to organize service opportunities and plan schoolwide events, including school dances. Student Council also offers an opportunity to share Fairview student feedback on topics like school menus.
