After-School Lower Elementary Theater Classes
The January session is now full but the waitlist is open.
Fernwood is partnering once again with Character Kids to offer after-school theater/stage skill-building classes. Classes will meet once a week for 8 weeks on Mondays from 2:30-3:30pm. The cost for families is $100 per student. Fernwood will be paying the additional cost per student using COVID relief ESSER funds for after-school activities. If families are in need of a full or partial scholarship for this program, please email brenda@characterkidsdrama.com. Enrollment will be first-come, first-served and we ask that families only sign up if their child did not already participate in this experience in the fall, for session 1. If we have open seats, we will send another message opening up the class to any 1st-3rd grader. Each session will end with a special parent showcase. This is an opportunity for lower elementary students, grades 1-3 only.
Session 2: January 8-March 11 (no class 1/15 or 2/19). CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR WAITLIST

Forensics Kick Off Meeting
Greetings families of 6th-8th grade students! Does your young person have a flair for the dramatic, a love of verbal communication, and seems to enjoy commanding the attention of a crowd? Or, does your young person want to conquer a fear of public speaking? Then they should consider being a part of Fernwood’s Fantastic Forensics Family!! Forensics is a Milwaukee Recreation program, so students may be involved in this program in addition to an afterschool club.
We will be having an informational meeting for interested scholars and families on Thursday, Nov. 30th from 5:30- 6:30pm via Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/vbv-ypnu-uqj )
You will learn what Forensics is, some of the categories, the commitment involved and about volunteer opportunities. Hope you see many of you there! Please email Mx. Botsford (botsfokm@milwaukee.k12.wi.us) with any questions.
