We have four volunteer coaches this season, and all are parents of students at Fernwood. We look forward to working with all of you and making this cross country season successful, rewarding and FUN!\r\n\r\nCross Country is a sport where EVERYONE participates (no tryouts), and is open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls and boys who attend Fernwood. Please email us fernwoodrunning@gmail.com<\/a> to be added to our mailing list and\/or to ask any questions you may have.\r\n\r\nWe will be accepting Registration Forms for our 2019 Cross Country team starting on the first day of school! <\/b>Check Fernwood website (under extracurricular), the Gymnasium bulletin board, the office, or Rm 11 (Ms Lorinda\u2019s classroom) for the registration paperwork. You may turn it into the office or to Mr Comp, our Athletic Director, with the $30 Registration Fee, BY FRIDAY, September 6th<\/b>.\r\n\r\n**NOTE: Our first XC practice will be held on Wednesday, September 4th. Practice the first week of school will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.**<\/b>\r\n\r\nOur runners will train together on M\/T\/W from 3:00-4:10 at Fernwood Montessori, every week through the last week of October. On Thursdays, we race (with the exception of our Conference meet \u2013 date TBA). Children need proper fitted running shoes, a running watch, a water bottle, and to be on time. We ask that cell phones be left behind. If a child comes unprepared (including being late), they won\u2019t be able to participate that day.\r\n\r\nThis year we have four coaches, all parent volunteers, who love to run and are passionate about sharing that love with our young athletes. Our intention is to prepare the children to reach their own personal goals, support one another, and most importantly HAVE FUN! Thank you to the parents and families for supporting our team! There is also a fundraising arm of cross country, called The Running Club. We also need parent volunteers to help at our races every Thursday. Please chat with the coaches for more information.
