A Message from the Principal

August 9, 2024 | News

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The safety and overall well-being of our students, staff and community remain a top priority of the Milwaukee Public Schools. At Forest Home, we will continue to implement preventive safety protocols, including screening all visitors to maintain a secure school building. We will utilize school staff and partners to offer access to materials, resources, and activities that address social and emotional needs, and bring unique learning experiences into each classroom that enhance the core curricula and enrich daily lessons across disciplines. MPS and Forest Home Avenue School are excited and prepared to welcome our students back to school for another outstanding school year filled with love and joy.

On behalf of the Staff from Forest Home Avenue School, we welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. Our school is known for having strong systems of support for all students along with our high standards of academic and behavior expectations for our students. As always, the administration and staff stand ready to work with you to achieve these expectations. We are also thrilled to open newly remodeled spaces both inside and outside the school to the entire school community.

In order to ensure academic success, students are expected to attend school every day. The first day of class is Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024. Our school day begins promptly at 7:25 a.m. and ends at 2:10 p.m.

If you have recently moved and/or changed your phone number, please call 414-902-6200. We must maintain accurate demographic information and if necessary, send school records to another school. And as always, if there are any changes (address or phone number) during the school year, please inform us immediately.

The first day of classes all students are expected to:

  1. Arrive on time with excitement and a determination to achieve
  2. Have essential school supplies (list included), including a water bottle
  3. Share a positive attitude towards school and a readiness to work hard

Milwaukee Public Schools and Forest Home Avenue School are prepared to welcome your child back to a safe, clean and friendly learning environment. If this is your child’s first time in school, please feel free to contact our school to arrange a date and time we can discuss any questions or concerns you may have. We are looking forward to working with you and your child this year!

Please come and meet your child’s teacher and the outstanding FHA Staff at our Open House on August 29th, 2024 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

We look forward to working with all of our students and families to achieve all of our goals.

Sincerely,
