It offers grants to students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals from the U.S. and other countries to study, teach, and conduct research abroad, fostering mutual understanding between nations. She was chosen based on her high academic knowledge, leadership skills, and recommendations from those who have worked with her. She is a highly distinguished teacher just a few years into her bilingual teaching career.
