Settling Into Summer
As a principal, Saturdays aren’t always for settling. Even in July, my mind drifts to August:
- How will the first day of school feel?
- How do we ensure our amazing staff is fully prepared?
- How can we deepen our connection with families?
But today, I’m settling into a different thought — our 8th graders are now freshmen. They’re heading off to high school, full of thoughts, nerves, excitement, and dreams. I can’t help but wonder:
- What are they thinking about?
- How are they getting ready?
- What will their journey look like?
And I already know one thing for sure: They will do EPIC things.
Why? Because they come from an EPIC place.
They’ve been supported by epic staff, led by epic leadership, and are part of a district with an EPIC vision. They are Grantosa Made, and that means they are ready to live EPIC in high school and beyond.
To our new high schoolers: we are proud of you. We believe in you. And we can’t wait to hear all about your high school adventures.
Enjoy your summer. Rest, dream, and prepare to thrive. And don’t forget to come back and see your Grantosa family at Open House on August 27th from 4–6 PM. I’ll be here — your favorite family principal, Mr. HILLIARD — ready to welcome you home.
