Acceptance Alliance

Accepted Alliance offers a safe space to meet other classmates, discuss important LGBTQ matters, and learn how to be an ally. This club aims to ensure that our school is a welcoming and accepting place for all.

Art Club

Advisor: Ellie Schaap

Art Club brings together students who enjoy expressing themselves through creativity and design. Members collaborate on a variety of art projects while helping beautify the school and community through murals, displays, and other creative initiatives.

Black Student Union

Advisors: Pat Bell and Bridgett Franklin

Our Black Student Union strives to combat racial discrimination by openly addressing issues and opinions in a safe environment. Members help lead events and also go on field trips, such as visiting the Black Holocaust Museum.

Chess Club

Advisor: Paul Winkler

Chess Club welcomes all skill levels, from beginner to experienced. Students learn new strategies, practice with friends, and compete in friendly matches and tournaments. Chess builds critical thinking skills, patience, and sportsmanship—come make your move!

Chemistry Club

Advisors: Lydia Richardson and Maya Welch

Chemistry Club members explore science through fun, hands-on experiments and creative projects, such as making slime and chalk. Students extend their learning through trips to places like Wehr Nature Center.

DECA

Advisor: Christopher Gebert

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Students explore hands-on projects and compete at the regional and state levels.

Green Team

Advisor: Kevin Schiebenes

Green Team is a student group focused on solving environmental problems. They help plan and execute activities for Earth Day and Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, and they also manage our composting program in the lunchroom.

Hispanos Unidos Club

Advisor: Soribel Betances and Angelica Sanchez

Anyone who is interested in learning about Latino culture and promoting cultural awareness is welcome at Hispanos Unidos Club—vengan! Students motivate and support each other in a healthy and friendly environment. They plan and host events, such as Multicultural Night, and they also dance at pep rallies and Cantos de las Américas.

Hope Squad

Advisor: Charles Kazel

Hamilton students nominate trusted, caring peers to join Hope Squad. This peer-to-peer suicide prevention program is available at select MPS schools. Squad members have regular meetings with trained advisors. They talk about mental health topics and learn to spot emotional distress. This helps them connect classmates with trusted adults and resources for support. Our Hope Squad raises awareness and reduces stigma to build a caring school culture.

Link Crew

Advisor: Maya Dix

Link Crew matches junior and senior leaders with groups of ninth graders to help them make the transition to high school. Link Crew Leaders lead our freshman orientation and provide mentoring to younger students.

National Honor Society

Advisors: Laila Eslami and Ellie Schaap

Sophomores and juniors are selected on the basis of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students participate in various service activities for the school and community during the year.

Powerlifting Club

Advisor: Stephen Drena

Powerlifting Club helps students build strength, confidence, and healthy fitness habits through weight training and teamwork. Members learn proper lifting techniques while supporting one another in reaching their personal goals.

Prom Club

Advisor: Catherine Wember

Prom Club plans all aspects of this annual spring dance, including the selection of music, theme, and refreshments. They decorate and determine the dinner and keepsake.

Robotics

Advisor: Rebecca Beeson

Robotics is open to all students interested in building, programming, and competing with robots. Students gain real engineering experience, meet industry mentors, and prepare for future careers—all in a fun, supportive environment.

Seal of Biliteracy Club

Advisor: Tulita Papke

Seniors who speak English and another language can join this club, complete a few requirements, and earn the Seal of Biliteracy. This award recognizes those who have attained proficiency in two or more languages by the end of high school.

SkillsUSA

Advisor: Rebecca Beeson

SkillsUSA is a student-led career and technical student organization (CTSO) that bridges classroom learning with industry standards. It empowers students to become career-ready professionals and community leaders through personal, workplace, and technical skill development.

Travel Club

Advisor: Rebecca Beeson

Students work with their advisor to organize domestic and international travel opportunities for students and teachers. They choose destinations, organize events, and run fundraisers to support travelers.

Wildcat Wings: Aviation Club

Advisors: Rebecca Beeson and Monica Radzin

Hamilton’s Aviation Club is a hands-on extracurricular program where students explore the science of flight and learn about aerospace careers. Members gain practical experience through flight simulators, drone piloting, and field trips to local airports. They also build foundational STEM skills and prepare for potential pilot licensing.

Yearbook and New Media Club

Yearbook and New Media Club is a creative and collaborative group where students work together to both create the morning announcements and capture the spirit and memories of the school year. Members take on a variety of roles—including photography, writing, design, and editing—as they plan, organize, and produce the school’s official yearbook.

Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES)

Advisor: John Fleissner

Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) is the student arm of Voces de la Frontera. YES teaches students how to engage in social activism and champion the rights of immigrants, students, and workers. Students learn to work for change at Hamilton as well as in MPS and the larger community.
