I am proud to be our school’s principal and lead learner, and I am grateful for a community that cares so deeply about its students and families.

After more than 34 years with Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), I can honestly say that Hampton is a special place. One of my greatest joys is seeing my former students again as parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, and older siblings of current Hampton students. It reminds me that schools are about so much more than academics—they are places where relationships grow across generations and communities become stronger.

Throughout my career with MPS, I have had the opportunity to serve as a teacher, math coach, implementer, curriculum generalist, assistant principal, and now principal. I was also involved in my own children’s education; all five of them attended and graduated from MPS schools. My experiences as both a staff member and a parent have reinforced what I believe at my core: learning is a lifelong journey, and when we stop learning, we stop growing.

At Hampton, my goal is to create a supportive environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to learn. There is nothing more rewarding than the “lightbulb moment” when a student suddenly realizes what they are capable of achieving. Those moments remind our team of the power of education and fuel our passion for the work we do. Our commitment is evident in every classroom, every interaction, and every opportunity we provide for our students.
