Technology

At Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School, scholars develop the strategies, navigation abilities, and Internet skills necessary to compete in today’s technologically integrated world.

STEM leaders design hands-on lessons using classroom and computer lab technologies, so scholars begin building STEM skills as early as kindergarten.

At Dr. King School, our:

  • Campus technology lab features networked computers, educational software, academic applications, and interactive whiteboards for blended learning,
  • Classrooms are equipped with computers for individual scholar use, group projects, and teaching,
  • Scholars have access to Chromebooks to continue their work and research at home, and
  • Technology coordinator integrates skill-building activities and educational technologies into weekly lessons.

Technological, research, and media literacy skills are reinforced through hands-on, interactive practice and learning. Scholars build on these skills as they progress through high school, college, technical school, and beyond.

Dr. King School’s tech-ed leaders and lessons show scholars that access to technology can support academic achievement in all subjects. Scholars use software to create multimedia presentations and campus computers to hone their academic skills and research new topics.

Internet Safety

Scholars learn to use the Internet safely and are supervised as they navigate teacher-approved websites. Fun family-friendly websites support academic and social and emotional learning goals.

Review the Student Internet Safety and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to see how students should use the Milwaukee Public Schools network.
