One of my second grade students raised her hand and said \u201c<em>Ms. Jackson this is not about the book, but you got on one blue sock\u00a0and one black sock<\/em>\u201d. She was correct! That experience taught me that our students pay more attention than we think<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why I like Teaching at Dr. King: <\/strong>Our school is family oriented; Principal Hayes often jokes with our scholars. For instance she likes to tell them she is the grandmother of the school. I love that we express concern for our scholars education. We love and respect\u00a0the families we serve. It doesn&#8217;t hurt that I love our leadership as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact: <\/strong>As an ice breaker before we start class I like to mimic funny celebrities and have the students guess who I am.
