As a member of the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership (MCSP), Lincoln Avenue School has a mindset to meet the needs of children and families during the school day and beyond.
School staff, students, families, and community members work as partners. At each school, this group identifies needs and priorities together and gathers resources so every child can excel.
In the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership:
- The personal success of every child is the focus of the school community.
- Families have a voice in education.
- Programs and strategies are selected to strengthen learning goals.
- Resources help support healthy students and families.
- A dedicated coordinator brings together families, staff, partners, and community.
- Each school has a key partner organization that is invested to support the school’s goals. Our partner organization is Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.
Our full-time Community School Coordinator is employed by our lead/partner agency Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers- Environmental Health Department. Their main task is to strategically engage multiple stakeholders to increase resources and find solutions to the 3 priorities identified by the school community (students, staff, parents, neighbors and community partners).
- Safety and Well-being: To create a school culture where we prioritize the safety and emotional and physical well-being of our students, staff, families and the community.
- Shared Responsibility and Collaboration: To build a culture of collaboration, where all stakeholders take responsibility to create academic success of the students at Lincoln.
- Building Collective Voice: To engage the voices of Lincoln students, families, staff, and the community where their voices can guide the decision making at Lincoln Avenue.
The MCSP is made up of three key partners with the core values of shared leadership, equity, and cultural relevance:
- Milwaukee Public Schools
- Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association
- United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County
