Students at MacDowell Montessori School can participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and showcases focused on the arts, athletics, community service, and more.<\/p>\n

Our teachers, coaches, and parent volunteers support extracurricular activities that help students explore career interests, develop new talents and skills, and make friends. Students who represent MacDowell Montessori School in the community gain leadership experience and strengthen school pride.<\/p>\n
Most activities\/clubs meet after school. Exceptions include art studio, choir, and instrument lessons, which students participate in during the school day. Contact our school\u2019s parent coordinator or your child\u2019s teacher to learn more about these opportunities.<\/p>\n

Welcomes students in grades one through three to create artistic representations of topics they research in class. These representations include dioramas, art installations, and sculptures.<\/p>\n
Second- and third-grade strategists compete at the school level in preparation for evening and weekend district tournaments.<\/p>\n
Second- and third-grade vocalists learn to use their voices.<\/p>\n
Students rehearse and perform a theatrical production that involves the entire school community from K5 through twelfth grade.<\/p>\n
Students have the opportunity to participate in weekly violin, viola, or cello lessons.<\/p>\n
Lower elementary students learn the basics of coding and investigate STEM concepts using hands-on materials.<\/p>\n

MacDowell students nominate trusted, caring peers to join Hope Squad. This peer-to-peer suicide prevention program is available at select MPS schools. Squad members have regular meetings with trained advisors. They talk about mental health topics and learn to spot emotional distress. This helps them connect classmates with trusted adults and resources for support. Our Hope Squad raises awareness and reduces stigma to build a caring school culture.<\/p>\n
