Our Maryland Avenue Montessori School has been a Milwaukee Public Schools site for more than 120 years, transitioning from a traditional school to a public Montessori program in 2001. We provide a quality education that prepares students for high school and beyond.<\/p>\n
Student enrollment preferences for K3 and K4 are collected each February via the Milwaukee Public Schools Kindergarten Enrollment process<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Maryland Avenue Montessori age of entry is three. Children must be three years old on or before September 1 of the year of entry.<\/em><\/p>\n It does not matter if a family applies for enrollment on the first day or the last day of the February enrollment window. All applications are pooled and sorted in late March.<\/p>\n Priority status is allocated to the following applicant groups from highest- to lowest-priority:<\/p>\n Families will be notified of their enrollment status in mid-April.<\/p>\n TIP:<\/strong> Truly interested in a public Montessori education for your child? Designate other MPS Montessori schools<\/a> as your second and third choices. Enrollment from K5 through eighth grade is based on a preference for prior Montessori experience. The child must be 3 on or before September 1 of the year of entry.<\/em>\r\n\r\nIt does not matter if you apply on the first day or the last day of the window all applications are pooled and sorted in late March. \u00a0 The first enrollment priority goes to siblings of current MAM students, the next ring of enrollments is a percentage of students within our one mile walk zone, the next ring of enrollments is a percentage of our five mile bus zone, all remaining applications are randomly assigned until our slots are filled and the balance of applications are randomly assigned a waitlist position.\r\n\r\nYou will be notified around the middle of April regarding enrollment status.<\/em>\r\n\r\nOne tip: if you are truly interested in a public Montessori education you should list one of our other MPS Montessori Schools<\/a> as your 2nd and 3rd choice schools.\u00a0 Because enrollment in the later grades is based on a preference for prior Montessori experience; getting a Montessori start gives you a better chance at being able to transfer to MAM should a spot open up.\r\n\r\nOnce enrollment at MAM is confirmed- a parent\/guardian must provide the following documentation to the school PRIOR to the first day of school to secure your child's spot.\r\n Maryland Ave. Montessori School participates in the Milwaukee Public Schools kindergarten enrollment process<\/a>. The application window begins on February 3\u00a0 and concludes on March 4, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n We encourage all prospective MPS families to attend the Kindergarten Enrollment Fair on Saturday, February 3rd at South Division HS.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\n
