Every contribution of time, money, and energy to our Milwaukee German Immersion School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) supports the continued success of the PTA, MGIS teachers, and students.
The MGIS PTA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that conforms with the purposes and guidelines established by the National PTA. Your MGIS PTA is a membership-driven public charity comprised of MGIS staff and families committed to furthering the national organization’s mission to help all children reach their full potential. In fact, MGIS is home to one of Wisconsin’s largest PTA chapters.

Why should you join the MGIS PTA?
Your MGIS PTA provides funds for and/or assistance with school programs.
- $9,000: Reduces the cost of school field trips
- $6,300: Provides books to all students through Reading is Fundamental

You can register as an individual or business member and pay annual dues on the MGIS PTA Member Hub.
- $6 for an individual membership
- $25 for business membership
Why is my lawn covered in gnomes or ladybugs?
Our bug/gnome fundraiser helps the MGIS Green Team maintain and expand the schoolyard’s environmental and educational assets. You can contact Green Team coordinator and MGIS teacher Jennifer Tomkalski (felsinja@milwaukee.k12.wi.us) for more information or see below.
- Complete this form, contribute $40 through the PTA Member Hub, and your friend, family, or neighbor’s yard will be covered in reusable ladybug or gnome decorations—your choice.
- Apartments, businesses, and addresses outside Milwaukee County cannot be bugged or gnomed.
- Decorations are removed and relocated to another lawn within three days.
