We welcome families, community members, alumni,\u202f businesses, and faith-based groups wishing to make a difference in our students\u2019 lives. Opportunities typically include:<\/p>\n

- Classroom Help \u2013 Join reading groups or assist teachers with take-home projects.<\/li>\n
- Room Parents \u2013 Support teachers with communication and special tasks.<\/li>\n
- Monday Work Group \u2013 Prep classroom materials (cutting, organizing, etc.).<\/li>\n
- In-School Help \u2013 Volunteer during drop-off, lunch, or dismissal; shelve library books.<\/li>\n
- Join the PTA \u2013 Day or evening roles available; 30+ committees or suggest your own!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

<\/a> MPS would like all volunteers to go through a background check[\/caption]\r\n\r\nAll volunteers who spend more than 5 hours in the building a year are asked to do a background check for the safety of our students. Click here<\/a>\u00a0and you will be taken to MPS' volunteer page. Select Milwaukee German Immersion School as your first choice.\r\n\r\nOur volunteers help MGIS run smoothly and safely. Volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know other parents, MGIS teachers and staff and your child\u2019s friends. School volunteers are organized either through the Parent Coordinator, the PTA, or in many cases, with your child's teacher!<\/strong>\r\n\r\nWho Volunteers:<\/strong>\r\n\r\nFamily members of MGIS students are welcome to volunteer. This includes parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Community members are also welcome.\r\n\r\n5 Easy Ways to Volunteer:<\/strong>\r\n- \r\n \t
- In the classroom; mostly English reading groups, but could also take projects home to help the teacher<\/li>\r\n \t
