Accepted Alliance<\/h3>\r\nThe Acceptance Alliance Club (also known as Gay, Straight, Alliance, GSA) is a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia. ALL students are welcome!\r\n
ACLU<\/h3>\r\nAmerican Civil Liberties Union: Student-led activist group focusing on historic and current social, political, and economic issues.\r\n
Anime Club<\/h3>\r\nAll things ANIME!!!\r\n
Art Justice<\/h3>\r\nA group of activist artists working together to use their craft for social change.\r\n
Book club<\/h3>\r\nStudents select various books to read focusing on topics of interest to them. We meet to discuss the book and students express their thoughts, likes, dislikes, and opinions regarding the book.\r\n
Debate<\/h3>\r\nDebate combines competitive speaking with logic and reasoning skills. Students compete around the state and country.\r\n
Forensics<\/h3>\r\nForensics is a very competitive group that travels throughout the state participating in public speaking, interpretive groups and solo acting. Poetry genres are also included.\r\n
National Honor Society<\/h3>\r\nMembership is bestowed upon students in their junior or senior year.\u00a0Students must have demonstrated specific qualities including leadership, character, and scholarship. In addition, members need to show evidence of service to the school and community.\r\n
Newspaper and Yearbook<\/h3>\r\nStudents will publish a monthly tabloid highlighting newsworthy events at MHSA and beyond.\r\n
Spiders Poetry Slam Team<\/h3>\r\nSpiders is the MHSA Poetry Slam team, where we perform spoken word poetry in school and at different locations throughout Milwaukee. We will also work on creating an online publication featuring student writing.\r\n
The Student Council<\/h3>\r\nThe vision of MHSA's Student Council is to promote student involvement in the school's environment through fundraising, student-driven events, and supporting the Art Departments.\r\n
Tour De Force<\/h3>\r\nThis is the MHSA dance department touring company. It consists of advanced dancers who are engaged in a city-wide performing tour from November through May. The company presents a multicultural dance program including Hispanic, African, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Street Dance. The goal of the company is to educate as well as entertain.
