Milwaukee High School of the Arts (MHSA) offers a wide range of student activities and clubs\u2014from art justice to anime\u2014giving students opportunities to lead, create, and connect beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n

Accepted Alliance Club<\/h2>\n

The Acceptance Alliance Club (MHSA’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance) is a safe place for students to meet and support each other. They can talk about issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, and also work to end homophobia and transphobia. ALL students are welcome!<\/p>\n

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)<\/h2>\n

This student-led activist group focuses on historic and current social, political, and economic issues.<\/p>\n

Anime Club<\/h2>\n

Students get together to enjoy all things anime.<\/p>\n

Art Justice<\/h2>\n

Activist artists work together to use their craft for social change.<\/p>\n

Debate<\/h2>\n

Debate combines competitive speaking with logic and reasoning skills. Students compete around the state and country.<\/p>\n

Forensics<\/h2>\n

Forensics is a very competitive group that travels throughout the state. Students participate in public speaking, interpretive groups, and solo acting. Poetry genres are also included.<\/p>\n

Link Crew<\/h2>\n

From welcome and orientation events to end-of-year celebrations, Link Crew leaders encourage, support, and mentor ninth graders as they make a successful transition to MHSA.<\/p>\n

National Honor Society<\/h2>\n

Juniors and seniors must demonstrate specific qualities such as leadership, character, and scholarship to join. In addition, they need to show evidence of service to the school and community.<\/p>\n

Newspaper<\/h2>\n

Students publish a monthly tabloid highlighting newsworthy events at MHSA and beyond.<\/p>\n

Spiders: Poetry Slam Team<\/h2>\n

Spiders is a group that performs spoken word poetry in school and at different locations throughout Milwaukee. We also manage Crimson Star, an online publication<\/a> that features student writing.<\/p>\n

Student Council<\/h2>\n

The vision of our Student Council is to promote student involvement at MHSA through fundraising, student-driven events, and support for the Art Areas.<\/p>\n

Tour De Force<\/h2>\n

Tour De Force is our dance touring company. Advanced MHSA dancers perform citywide from November through May. The company presents a multicultural dance program, including African, Ballet, Hispanic, Jazz, Modern, Street, and Tap. The goal of the company is to educate as well as entertain. Through a lecture\/demonstration format, the dancers teach audiences the history and background of the dances they perform.<\/p>\n

Yearbook<\/h2>\n

Yearbook Club is a creative, student-led team dedicated to capturing the memories of each school year. Members collaborate on taking photos, writing\/editing, and designing content to produce the annual yearbook. They learn valuable skills in journalism, graphic design, and teamwork along the way.<\/p>\n
