Alexander Mitchell Integrated Arts School students can participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and showcases focused on the arts, athletics, community service, and more.
Athletics
The Mitchell Eagles Athletics Program welcomes students in grades four through eight as they train and compete in these popular sports: Basketball, cheerleading, flag football, soccer (year-round), softball, track and field, and volleyball.
Girls on the Run
Fourth and fifth graders enjoy fun, evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health.
Green Team
Students, staff, parents, and community members contributed design ideas and helped shape priorities for our redeveloped schoolyard, which opened in 2023. During family events, volunteer days, and sometimes after school, join the Green Team as they weed, water, and care for our redeveloped schoolyard.
Mix-it-up Monday
Classroom teachers and their students select a special project or activity to explore together during the final hour of school on most Mondays. If your child comes home with new skills and interests — DJing, gardening, sewing — Mix-it-up Monday might be why!
Youth Council
Fourth through eighth graders contribute to Mitchell School’s family atmosphere by giving school tours, delivering daily announcements, and serving on our Community School Leadership Team. Once or twice each month, council members meet with our community school coordinator to discuss issues affecting Mitchell School and brainstorm ways to get more students involved as volunteers and peer mentors.
