Be a marigold, October is national bullying prevention month.
Parents/Guardians – October is national bullying prevention month.
Students have read the Marigold story and the theme of the story is about being kind, inclusive and helping one another. Marigolds protect vegetables and flowers in gardens; farmers and gardeners typically use the marigold when companion planting. We can be a Marigold by being our best and helping one another.
The students have been competing for marigolds in their homerooms by helping their classmates, sharing, giving compliments, showing manners, and by helping one another. Students can give out marigolds too which are hung in the hallways at the lower and upper campus. National Bullying Prevention/Unity Day at MSIS is Thursday, October 26th, Students can wear the colors of a Marigold – yellow, orange, burnt orange. The Marigold contest will go until November 10, and the class that has the most Marigolds will earn an extra recess.
Check in with your child and ask if they have given or received a Marigold shout out.
