Dear MSIS Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to a new school year at Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School (MSIS)! As the interim principal, I am honored to be part of a school community that is dedicated to academic excellence and the development of bilingual, biliterate, and multicultural students.
At MSIS, we are proud to offer an immersive Spanish language environment where students begin their journey toward bilingualism from day one. Formal instruction in English reading and language arts begins in 2nd grade, and we deeply value the partnership with our families in supporting language development at home.
To help our students succeed, it is essential that families continue to encourage English literacy outside of school, while also reinforcing the use of Spanish—especially during the school day. Together, we can ensure our students grow confidently in both languages and thrive in our global society.
At the heart of a strong school is a strong connection between home and school. We are committed to building meaningful relationships with families and believe that collaboration and communication are key to student success. Volunteers are always welcome at MSIS! We invite you to get involved by joining our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and School Engagement Council (SEC). Your voice matters, and we truly value the time, ideas, and energy our families contribute to our school community.
We’re excited for the year ahead and look forward to working together to support our students’ growth, learning, and success.
Nos vemos pronto,
Sr. Moon Villalobos
Assistant Principal in Charge
