American Association of Teachers of German (AATG)
The association sponsors the National German Exam (NGE), the official German language exam for 15,000 American high schoolers. AATG provides individual diagnostic feedback to all students who complete the NGE and sponsors regional and national award programs. German Immersion Program students at MSL take the NGE.
Amity Institute
Founded in Wisconsin, Amity Institute is a U.S. Department of State designated BridgeUSA J-1 program that connects American foreign language teachers and students to cultural opportunities abroad. Amity Institute teaching exchanges immerse international youth in American education, family, and community life to build global friendship and cultural understanding. Aspiring educators from France and Germany join the MSL community as classroom interns in our French and German immersion programs.
Black and Latino Male Achievement (BLMA)
BLMA recognizes that Black and Latino boys and young men face unique challenges in school, career, and life. School-based programming from BLMA supports success for Black and Latino males in MPS, and includes connecting young men to teachers, mentors, and leaders with shared backgrounds who have achieved personal triumphs. BLMA mentors provide individualized support to Black and Latino young men and boys who are enrolled at MSL.
Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA)
The Central Agency for Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen), based in Germany’s Federal Office of Administration, supports over 1,200 schools worldwide—mainly in public-private partnership. ZfA provides administrative support to the German Language Certificate program (DSD I and DSD II language proficiency exams) in the MSL German Immersion Program.
City Year
City Year’s mission is to advance academic outcomes for all students and develop the next generation of leaders through national service. They aim to create conditions that enable all young people to reach their full potential and contribute to vibrant communities—outcomes that benefit all of us. City Year Teaching Fellows serve at MSL.
College Board
The education nonprofit College Board reaches more than seven million students yearly as they navigate the path from high school to college and career. College Board programs include Advanced Placement (AP) courses. MSL educators teach AP courses such as biology, English literature, environmental science, French, and German.
College Possible Wisconsin
College Possible Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making college accessible and achievable for all Wisconsin students. An intensive curriculum includes personalized coaching, mentorship, and support. Eligible MSL students may participate in College Possible Wisconsin programming starting their junior year.
German Immersion Foundation (GIF)
The German Immersion Foundation (GIF) supports the Milwaukee German Immersion School and the Milwaukee School of Languages (MSL) by providing additional resources to fully fund programs that prepare children to excel in the competitive global marketplace.
LabelFrancÉducation (LabelFranceEducation)
LabelFranc promotes outstanding education in French and contributes to the influence of French education, language, and culture in more than 500 bilingual elementary and secondary programs outside of France. Schools in more than 60 countries receive the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs seal, and support through general, technological, or professional tracks. MSL is a member of the LabelFranc network.
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC)
MATC is a two-year institution that offers more than 170 degree, diploma, and certificate programs. MATC has numerous four-year transfer partners, including pathways through guaranteed admission agreements with four-year colleges and universities. MATC offers dual-enrollment courses to MPS students through Start College Now, transcripted credits, and the M3 College Connections program. MATC is one of three lead partners of the M3 initiative (M-Cubed).
Milwaukee French Immersion Foundation
Founded by Milwaukee French Immersion School parents who share our commitment to excellence in bilingual education, the foundation’s advocacy and fundraising are guided by this mission: To support French language programs at Milwaukee French Immersion School and Milwaukee School of Languages.
Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD)
PAD is a German governmental organization dedicated to promoting international exchange and cooperation in the school sector. The PAD is a department of the Secretariat of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (Kultusministerkonferenz). PAD supports our German Immersion Program as a partner organization to the American Association of Teachers of German.
University of Wisconsin-Madison
UW-Madison is an exhilarating campus with almost 48,000 students from all 50 U.S. states and around 6,000 international students from over 130 countries. MSL high schoolers may participate in UW-Madison’s PEOPLE pre-college program.
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM)
UWM provides an affordable, world-class education to 23,000 students from 86 countries. The university is one of three lead partners of the M3 initiative (M-Cubed) and hosts the TRIO & Pre-College program, preparing Milwaukee Public Schools students for academic and career success before and beyond graduation day.
