Milwaukee School of Languages Code of Conduct holds students accountable for their words and actions.
A complete list of MSL policies and procedures can be found in our student handbook.
As a student at MSL, I will: Give Respect. Be Prepared. Follow the Rules. Be a Leader.
Code of Conduct Violations
When a student violates our code of conduct, MSL procedures are as follows:
- Verbal warning
- Student/teacher conference
- Parent contact
- Detention or referral dependent on severity of infraction
Conduct Has Consequences
Nothing is more rewarding than recognizing students for academic progress and positive behavior. Parents and caregivers, please ask your student about the recognition they receive in school, which includes our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.
PBIS is a proactive system to provide the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
- Universal Interventions are provided, and approximately 80 percent of students will be successful academically and behaviorally with these Universal Interventions.
- For other students, more support may be needed to experience success. Tier II supports include Check In-Check Out (CICO), Social/Academic Instructional Groups, and Individualized CICO.
