School Hours

8:00 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.

Our students are scholars, accumulating credits and content knowledge in core courses like mathematics, English Language Arts, and personal finance. Our scholars are builders, developing job-ready skills and exploring the trades in North Division’s industrial wing, home to a construction lab and bicycle shop. Our scholars are creatives and entrepreneurs, choosing from elective courses like business, cooking, drumline, and fine arts. Scholars can earn college credit in dual enrollment courses taught by North Division educators. College dreams become reality through partnerships with top Wisconsin colleges and universities, and with the guidance of North Division’s expert counseling staff.

Activities like athletics, African cooking, Green Team, and youth council encourage scholars to learn and lead beyond the school day — collaborating, communicating, and problem solving across cultures and zip codes.

The 2024-25 school year is a time to thrive at North Division High School, with upgraded campus features and facilities:

  • Collaborative Learning Lab, opened in 2023-24 to provide new STEM resources and blended learning experiences.
  • New fieldhouse in 2024, resurfaced tennis courts and running track, and renovated pool — sustainably designed and open to the community.
  • Redeveloped schoolyard featuring a greenhouse and outdoor classroom for STEM lessons, agriculture, and cooking projects — home to the North Division Green Team.
  • Renovated cafeteria to promote healthy eating, conversation, and community building.

North Division remains a fixture of Milwaukee’s centrally located Lindsay Heights neighborhood. Always focused, always future-ready, the Blue Devils invite the community to join them for a game, open house, or Community School Leadership Team meeting.

Vision Statement

We are a Legacy Strong/Future Ready community school. We prepare our scholars to be lifelong leaders and learners who will positively impact society. We will achieve this by focusing on core academics, by providing our scholars with grade-appropriate/culturally relevant instruction, transitional skills, deep engagement, high expectations, and emphasizing the social-emotional development of our scholars.

Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership

North Division High School is proud to be a member of the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership (MCSP). Through MCSP, our students, families, teachers, staff, neighbors, and partners come together to form a strategy that best meets the needs of our students. We work toward academic success and personal well-being for our children.

School Community Partnership for Mental Health

Since 2009, the School Community Partnership for Mental Health (SCPMH) has provided intensive, on-site mental wellness programs and mental health services to students and families in Milwaukee Public Schools. The partnership began in just four schools and has expanded to nearly 40 schools, including North Division High School.
