Activities

Clubs, showcases, and community events encourage North Division scholars to sharpen their cross-cultural communication skills, network, and gain insight into who they are and where they want to go after high school.

Parents and caregivers, please join us in encouraging your North Division scholar to participate in a Blue Devils club, team, or society. Research shows student involvement is related to increased academic performance, increased attendance, and other positive outcomes for youth.

Most clubs meet once per week or twice per month. Contact a North Division counselor or teacher for more information.

Adaptive Athletics

North Division hosts annual Special Olympics Wisconsin events, and our scholars participate as volunteers or athletes.

Bicycle Workshop

Working with Wisconsin Bike Fed educators in our school’s bicycle workshop, scholars learn bicycle repair and maintenance skills, bicycle safety, and participate in regular rides. Riders can borrow gear if they do not have their own bicycle or helmet.

Black and Latino Male Achievement

The vision of this program is to ensure that Black and Latino boys and young men will possess an affirmed sense of identity, dignity, and self-confidence, and will have the necessary tools to triumphantly navigate K-12, college, career, and life.

Blue Angels

Decorating our school, sharing the Blue Devil spirit, and displaying student creativity is what Blue Angels do. These scholars curate art displays at North Division, design tee shirts, and maintain a sense of hospitality and beauty during our school’s community events.

Blue Devils United Male Youth Club

Character enrichment through service and education keep BDU members focused. They host motivational speakers, sponsor food drives for the community, and provide style support for young men preparing for milestone events like prom and homecoming.

Chess Club

Players of all skill levels and abilities are welcome at chess club, which teaches the game and prepares North Division scholars to strategize in regional chess competitions.

Community School Youth Council

Promoting the student voice is key to North Division’s identity as a member of the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership. Engaged scholars transform North Division and the wider community as they work on school nutrition policies, meet with other youth leaders during twice yearly summits, and connect weekly with our community school coordinator.

Green Team

Green Team members keep our school gardens healthy, productive, and open to the community. Their efforts include raising, harvesting, and selling flowers and edible plants from the North Division green house.

InHer Strength Girls Group

Character enrichment, connection, and community service are just a few priorities shared by members of this long-standing club for young women at North Division.

International Club

Our school proudly welcomes international educators from Nigeria, Spain, and the Middle East. Educators share recipes, customs, and language lessons from their home countries with International Club members. Created in 2023 by student request, International Club is one of North Division’s fastest growing extracurricular activities.

LINK Crew

Junior and senior scholars wearing LINK Crew blazers co-host North Division’s freshman orientation and open house events, lead VIP tours, and are always ready and proud to serve as school ambassadors.

National Honor Society

Scholars with a strong GPA can apply for membership in North Division’s new-in-2024 National Honor Society (NHS) chapter. Leadership roles and service projects help prepare NHS members for college and citizenship as they work with school administrators and community groups.

Robotics

A partnership with Milwaukee Robotics Academy prepares our students for regional and national tech-building competitions. Members have traveled as far as Dallas and Chicago to show off their skills and learn from talented tech professionals and peers nationwide. This includes “semifinalist” honors at the 2024 Seven Rivers Regional competition in La Crosse.

STEM Team

STEM stands for “science, technology, engineering, math,” STEM team members explore these subjects in depth as they skill-build, design. and compete in cybersecurity and tech-based projects and challenges in regional competitions.

Social Justice Club

Advocating for students’ rights, voting rights, and learning about diverse issues affecting youth and families in Milwaukee and beyond inspire and empower Social Justice Club members.
