Today, Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee provides after-school enrichment in partnership with the school and Milwaukee Recreation through the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at North Division. Learn more about how BGC supports students in becoming college and career ready through its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcmilwaukee.org\/our-programs\/college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grad Plus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgcmilwaukee.org\/our-programs\/career-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Career Development<\/a> programs.<\/p>\n<h2>College Board<\/h2>\n<p>The education nonprofit College Board reaches more than seven million students yearly as they navigate the path from high school to college and career. College Board programs include Advanced Placement courses, taught by North Division educators.<\/p>\n<h2>Employ Milwaukee<\/h2>\n<p>Employ Milwaukee is a local workforce development board serving Milwaukee County. Their vision is to develop workforce solutions that promote regional economic growth and employment opportunity for all job seekers. Employ Milwaukee provides wrap around career development programming to North Division scholars in partnership with Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.<\/p>\n<h2>53206 Initiative<\/h2>\n<p>The 53206 Initiative is taking innovative steps to student achievement through equity. High expectations, academic rigor, and access to resources and options are enhancing academics and student well-being. Milwaukee Public Schools envisions a future 53206 in which all schools are anchors of the community and every child can become successful in college and career.<\/p>\n<h2>Greater Milwaukee Urban League<\/h2>\n<p>For more than a century, the Greater Milwaukee Urban League has stood in the gap, working hard to empower communities and change lives for African Americans living in the greater Milwaukee area.\u00a0The founders, a racially diverse coalition, believed that working together, the lives of every American can be made better.<\/p>\n<h2>HeartLove Place<\/h2>\n<p>Serving Milwaukee for more than 35 years, this nonprofit organization provides culinary arts and character enrichment programming to North Division scholars.<\/p>\n<h2>Literacy Services of Wisconsin<\/h2>\n<p>Literacy Services of Wisconsin partners with motivated adults to provide access to quality basic education and skills training so they can improve their lives, enrich their families, and strengthen the community.\u00a0Literacy Services of Wisconsin provides adult literacy classes to North Division parents and family members.<\/p>\n<h2>Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan<\/h2>\n<p>Therapists from Lutheran Social Services spend two days per week at North Division, working with teachers, the school social worker, psychologist, counselor, and parent coordinator, to get to know students and families. As trusted members of our school community, therapists bring age appropriate, evidence-based wellness workshops and therapies to students and families.<\/p>\n<h2>Marquette University<\/h2>\n<p>Marquette is a Catholic, Jesuit university with more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools.\u00a0North Division scholars may participate in Marquette University\u2019s Educational Opportunity Program. Marquette University students also provide tutoring support at North Division.<\/p>\n<h2>Milwaukee Area Health Education Center (AHEC)<\/h2>\n<p>According to its mission, AHEC strives to increase the diversity and distribution of health professionals through strategic partnerships to improve the health outcomes in Southeastern Wisconsin.\u00a0Milwaukee AHEC partners with North Division and other Milwaukee Public Schools to bring HOSA Future Health Professionals chapters to students enrolled in the district\u2019s health sciences career academies, empowering students to \u201cbecome leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC)<\/h2>\n<p>MATC is a two-year institution that offers more than 170 degree, diploma, and certificate programs. MATC has numerous four-year transfer partners, including pathways through guaranteed admission agreements with four-year colleges and universities. MATC offers dual-enrollment courses to MPS students through Start College Now, transcripted credits, and the M<sup>3<\/sup> College Connections program.<\/p>\n<p>MATC is one of three lead partners of the M<sup>3<\/sup> initiative (M-Cubed). Along with Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) and UW-Milwaukee, this collaboration is dedicated to transforming the future of Milwaukee through education. One facet of M<sup>3<\/sup> is the College Connections Program, which provides dual enrollment courses so MPS students can earn high school and college credit at the same time.<\/p>\n<h2>Milwaukee Robotics Academy<\/h2>\n<p>Milwaukee Robotics Academy provides training and technology, skills-based programs and mentorship that educates and inspires high school students on their way to becoming the next generation of Milwaukee STEM leaders and entrepreneurs.\u00a0Milwaukee Robotics Academy partners with North Division\u2019s robotics team, preparing our STEM scholars for regional and national competitions.<\/p>\n<h2>NAF<\/h2>\n<p>The NAF program offers career courses and training, mentorship and internship experiences, and more to prepare students for college and career. Select MPS high schools offer different career academies.\u00a0North Division has two NAF academies: Academy of Health Sciences and Academy of Information Technology.<\/p>\n<h2>North Division Alumni Association<\/h2>\n<p>The North Division Alumni Association provides scholarships, general care, and support to our school community.<\/p>\n<h2>Reflo<\/h2>\n<p>Annually, Reflo works with partners including Milwaukee Public Schools, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, the City of Milwaukee, the Fund for Lake Michigan, Community Design Solutions, and others to support Milwaukee-area schools in an intensive, collaborative process to design and then redevelop greener, healthier schoolyards.<\/p>\n<p>Each redevelopment project is tailored to the specific needs and enthusiasm of the school\u2019s community but often involves replacing seas of asphalt with green infrastructure including bioswales, rain gardens, and trees as well as outdoor classrooms, improved recreational facilities and arts opportunities. Designs go beyond removing pavement to maximize benefits for communities, the environment, and local economy.<\/p>\n<h2>Running Rebels<\/h2>\n<p>Running Rebels Community Organization guides Milwaukee youth into adulthood through mentoring, positive programming, and community connection. Running Rebels promotes North Division resources as well as sharing neighborhood news and resources with our scholars, staff, and families.<\/p>\n<h2>School Community Partnership for Mental Health<\/h2>\n<p>Since 2009, the School Community Partnership for Mental Health (SCPMH) has provided intensive, on-site mental wellness programs and mental health services to students and families in Milwaukee Public Schools. The partnership began in just four schools and has now expanded to nearly 40 schools.<\/p>\n<h2>University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM)<\/h2>\n<p>UWM provides an affordable, world-class education to 23,000 students from 86 countries. As one of the nation\u2019s top research universities, UWM partners with leading companies in Wisconsin and beyond to advance knowledge, bring new discoveries to market and prepare students for work in a global economy.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is one of three lead partners of the M<sup>3<\/sup> initiative (M-Cubed). Along with Milwaukee Public Schools and Milwaukee Area Technical College, this collaboration is dedicated to transforming the future of Milwaukee through education.
