Welcome to Marvin E. Pratt Elementary School.
As principal, I’m excited to tell you about our supportive community and internationally authorized academics. Our International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme gives scholars a global perspective, providing knowledge and skill-building opportunities that prepare them for middle and high school.
Creating a school culture that centers scholars, their learning experience, and values an educator’s unique expertise inspires me as your principal. Every Pratt educator brings remarkable skill and experience to our school. As a team, they support our powerful IB curriculum and our families. Marvin E. Pratt’s staff understand the value of trust-building and communicating between school and home. I enjoy working with them, as will you.
Connecting and building authentic relationships with scholars, staff, and families while maintaining high expectations and accountability is what leads to meaningful outcomes for our scholars. This is why I care deeply about parent engagement. When parents support their child’s learning at home and stay in touch with classroom teachers, our scholars can truly thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’ve been in the principal’s office at Pratt since 2021, and I’ve been an educator since 2009, when Teach for America Milwaukee led me to Riley Dual Language Montessori School. My classroom career also includes special education experience at Forest Home Avenue School. I began working in administration at George Washington Carver Academy in 2014. Giving back to the people and places that shaped my career is a personal and professional priority; I’m honored to mentor educators and principals through the Center for Urban Teaching at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Whether you’re already a proud Pratt parent or considering joining our community, please attend an open-house event. Our parent coordinator, Helen Cobb, is an excellent first point of contact for new and returning Pratt families. I invite you to reach out anytime with questions about our school, including scheduling a tour.
Start strong at Pratt, where knowledge takes you places.
Sincerely,
Tianna Evans, principal
