Position: Science Teacher

Ms. Scott has always been fascinated by the world around her. Science became her way of understanding the things that intrigued her. She knew she wanted to work in a field that combined science and helping people. However, after a family member’s motorcycle accident, she quickly realized that she might not be cut out for treating patients in a medical setting. (She has a funny story about this experience that she enjoys sharing.) This led her to teaching, where she could combine her desire to help people with her fascination for the natural world.
Ms. Scott is currently in her 24th year teaching science at Pulaski High School, which has always felt like her home away from home. She graduated from Pulaski in 1995, and up until 2018, she taught most of her classes in room 33. In the summer before the 2018-2019 school year, she moved to a brand-new science lab in room 135. Although she’s still trying to remember where everything is, she loves the new space.
She currently teaches DP Sports, Exercise, and Health Sciences for both Year 1 and Year 2. Additionally, she has taken on the role of School Support Teacher this year, so students may see her in many of their classes. Information specific to each course, including syllabi, general expectations, and Pulaski High School’s Science Safety Rules, can be found in the drop-down menu above.
At home, Ms. Scott is a proud mom to two boys, Ryan and Alex. Ryan is in college, and Alex is a junior in high school. In 2021, the boys and Ms. Scott lost their dad, and they have been learning to navigate many new challenges without him. Though she hasn’t done it in a few years, Ms. Scott enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and spending time at Great America with her boys. Her favorite books are part of a series by Chanda Hahn called An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, but she also enjoys reading romance novels from time to time.
