Ms. Ducat started her teaching career in Phoenix, Arizona, through Teach for America. It was an instant perfect fit, and she knew that special education was her calling as soon as those first students entered her room.

She has been at Pulaski since returning to Wisconsin in 2002. She spent the first ten years as a cross-categorical special education teacher and has been the department’s transition coordinator for the past eight years.

When she’s not at school, Ms. Ducat enjoys spending quality time with her family and pets, which include two doodle dogs and one very large cat. She loves getting outside to walk, jog, hike, or kayak, as well as making delicious and healthy foods, eating desserts, and traveling to new places.

Her favorite book is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. She enjoys fictional books that transport her to new environments, where she can fall in love with the author’s strong and complex characters.
