Dr. Castellón never initially wanted to be a teacher, but once he began teaching, he realized the significant influence a teacher can have on their students. He came to understand that teachers act as “translators of bureaucracy” for both their students and their families. Growing up, Dr. Castellón had very few teachers of color and even fewer who had a deep understanding of issues related to equity and social justice.

He has been a bilingual mathematics teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools since 1994, with previous teaching experience at South Division High School and Advanced Language and Academic Studies High School (ALAS). He has been a teacher at Pulaski High School since 2011.

Outside of school, Dr. Castellón enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, listening to music, and staying active. He is also an avid reader and enjoys exploring a variety of books.
