Ms. Scott has always been fascinated by the world around her. Science became her way of understanding the things that intrigued her. She knew she wanted to work in a field that combined science and helping people. However, after a family member’s motorcycle accident, she quickly realized that she might not be cut out for treating patients in a medical setting. (She has a funny story about this experience that she enjoys sharing.) This led her to teaching, where she could combine her desire to help people with her fascination for the natural world.
Ms. Scott has been teaching science at Pulaski High School since 2000, which has always felt like her home away from home. She is also a Pulaski Alumni. She graduated from Pulaski in 1995. In 2023, she added school support to her duties.
She currently teaches DP Sports, Exercise, and Health Sciences for Year 2. As the School Implementer, Ms. Scott has many additional duties so students may see her in many of their classes.
At home, Ms. Scott is a proud mom to two boys, Ryan and Alex. Ryan is in college, and Alex is a senior in high school. In 2021, the boys and Ms. Scott lost their dad, and they have been learning to navigate many new challenges without him. Though she hasn’t done it in a few years, Ms. Scott enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and spending time at Great America with her boys. Her favorite books are part of a series by Chanda Hahn called An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, but she also enjoys reading romance novels from time to time.
