Through the Diploma Programme (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research, and undertake a long-term \u201cpassion\u201d project reflective of the IB learner profile.<\/p>\n<p>Students may be full IB diploma candidates or take select IB courses as certificate candidates. Students receive advice and guidance from a teacher or essay \u201cadvisor\u201d with expertise or experience on the EE topic\/DP subject. Three mandatory reflection sessions take place to help guide the topic and provide feedback on ideas. Students will develop skills, attitudes, and dispositions through a variety of individual and group experiences that provide students with opportunities to explore their interests and express their passions.<\/p>\n<p>CAS is organized around three strands.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Creativity:<\/strong>\u202fExploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Activity:<\/strong>\u202fPhysical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Service:<\/strong>\u202fCollaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the IB, the CAS project should involve purposeful and personally challenging activities with measurable outcomes and require long-term consideration, such as planning and reviewing work, and reporting and reflecting on outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.19.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;30px||||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>DP Assessments<\/h2>\n<p>To complete the DP, students submit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibo.org\/programmes\/diploma-programme\/assessment-and-exams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">written examinations and final assessments<\/a>. Written assessments challenge students to evaluate, reflect on, and communicate how their new knowledge and skills have changed them and can change the world.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessments are completed in school.<\/li>\n<li>Assessments may be marked by teachers and then moderated by external examiners or sent directly to external examiners.<\/li>\n<li>Students can also be awarded up to three additional points for their combined results on theory of knowledge and the extended essay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Final DP Score<\/h2>\n<p>The diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points, subject to certain minimum levels of performance across the whole programme, satisfactory CAS participation, and a passing score on the extended essay.
