Riverside Student Artwork Featured at National Conference in Chicago

March 5, 2026 | News

Riverside University High School is proud to celebrate senior artist Janet Teamer, whose Frida Kahlo fabric portrait has been selected for display at this weekend’s National Art Education Association Conference in Chicago.
Janet’s textile portrait will be showcased in a featured slideshow prior to the keynote address by renowned fiber artist Bisa Butler. Butler is internationally recognized for her vibrant, quilted portraits that celebrate Black life and history, making this an especially meaningful honor for a young textile artist like Janet.
The National Art Education Association Conference brings together art educators, scholars, and student artists from across the country to celebrate excellence and innovation in art education. Having her work presented at such a prestigious event reflects both Janet’s artistic talent and the strength of Riverside’s visual arts program.
Riverside University High School congratulates Janet Teamer on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to seeing her continued creative success.
